But, most girls will just roll their eyes and mutter ‘Tsk, boys,’ under their breath and get on with the rest of their day. They’d probably play Dead Or Alive with me if I asked, even if they wouldn’t buy it themselves and probably prefer Tekken or SoulCalibur.Īnd here’s the thing, there are just as many sexualised outfits in those examples too. And, though neither of the women who replied to my line of inquiry explicitly said so, they didn’t seem to really care. That does not necessarily mean that female players can’t enjoy this game or any other fighting game – as they are all guilty of this trope with at least one or two characters. ![]() Then accusations of prudishness would be valid. If these girls had been designed by girls or were real people who had chosen to physically express themselves in this way then it would be very different. This is an imbalance between the two genders and thus easily qualifies as sexism. A bit of cleavage, a bit of thigh, maybe nice hair and high heels and the majority of guys will immediately take notice. With us guys, those of us who are straight and bisexual are very easy to appeal to. We get to see Zack and Jann Lee’s naked, plasticky and sweaty torsos to emphasise their strength – not their sexuality. ‘The dudes are wearing very little as well! They’re just as sexualised!’ No. Sorry for the lengthy meandering reply lol.By the looks of things, and somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but all of Dead Or Alive 6’s artists are men, designing the women’s wardrobes with male eyes in mind. Maybe you can find a sale, or have spare moolah. The base game is limited in costumes, and getting more requires shelling out quite a bit of space bucks. Overall try the free version first maybe, then see what you'd like to do. ![]() Multiple personality types that I'm sure many would find "problematic". Still nice to see pretty ladies compared to western designs though. The graphics are nice at times, but not vastly improved over 5. The online never interested us, as we only play solo or together. The grind to unlock stuff is a big turn-off for me. Overall I've enjoyed 6, but I haven't played it as much as 5. The breast sizes have been nerfed for some ladies as well which is a shame, and the original fear of a lack of bust physics thankfully subsided as they still jiggle, but I nor my significant other don't recall being able to jiggle the Dual Shock and see the busts do the same sadly. Rachel may have had a costume censored as well, but I've seen pc mods fixed it, but us console peasants are SoL. ![]() It seems to roughly be like Granblue Fantasy Versus where in order to also get into E-sports and a wider western appeal they hid the costumes of a couple characters so players have to unlock them. It can take some time to grind up the parts and cash to unlock all the costumes though it is better than launch. The censorship stinks, and from what I gather was an attempt to appeal to a wider market and E-Sports namely which backfired on them. I like that they're adding in characters, but the nickel and diming for old costumes, which aren't included in the season pass is wrong imo. 6 is good fun, and as mentioned it can look great on (a Pro or X) console but resolution mode was unplayable for me, otherwise performance is the way to go. They will each perform a break blow to your wallet if you want all the dlc, which I feel was superior so far in 5.
